March 15, 2010 - Congratulations! ORTESOL is pleased to announce the winners of our 2010 James Nattinger Travel Awards to be awarded to Mark Van Ness for his upcoming presentation at National TESOL entitled "Rethinking Respect: Understanding Respectful Communication in Adult ESL Classroom Contexts". Our other award recipient is Judi Barr for her upcoming co-presentation at National TESOL: "Conversation Card". This award is most often given to our members who present at National TESOL.

March 4, 2010 - ORTESOL has established a program to provide for action research support. The purpose of the action research program is to encourage and support innovative practices in teaching. Action research consists of projects or ideas that grow from an instructor's desire to know if a new teaching strategy or new materials are working and effective in helping students.
