ORTESOL Fall Conference 2008:

Call for Papers ORTESOL 08 :   Best Practices: Content, Culture, Communication.

 

The ORTESOL 2008 Conference is a great opportunity to broaden your professional horizons by connecting with colleagues and experts in the field, and by sharing your knowledge as a presenter.  The conference is scheduled for Friday, November 21st and Saturday, November 22nd.  The site is Mt. Hood Community College, Gresham. Please join us to share ideas about best practices and enjoy the wonderful setting at MHCCC.

Presentations will feature concurrent sessions and panel discussions on topics ranging from classroom management to various practical learning activities to political legislation, in K-12, Adult and Higher Education settings.  Approximately twenty major publishers will show their latest offerings with book giveaways throughout the day.  Special interest groups will meet at lunchtime for networking.

Grants for Members


Action Research

ORTESOL has established a program to provide for action research support. The purpose of the action research program is to encourage and support innovative practices in teaching. Action research consists of projects or ideas that grow from an instructor's desire to know if a new teaching strategy or new materials are working and effective in helping students.

Grants of up to $200.00 per workshop will be awarded. Because funds are limited, you are encouraged to apply early.
